Maximum Number of Webs Reached

Error:  “Server error: You have created the maximum number of webs supported by this server.  Please delete a web before creating a new one.”

You need to uninstall the FrontPage Personal Web Server and install the Microsoft Personal Web Server.

There are two servers on the CD.  Which one gets installed depends on how you answer the very first question during the set up process.

Steps:

Uninstall the extensions:

1.  Start Windows Explorer
2.  Change to \Program Files\Microsoft FrontPage
3.  Start FrontPage Server Administrator
4.  Click on Uninstall.
5.  Exit out of all applications.
6.  Reboot your PC.

Install the Microsoft Personal Web Server.

1.  Put the 98 CD in the drive (start it up if you don't have autoplay turned on).
2.  Answer yes to the very first question about a personal web server.
3.  Follow the prompts.
