TCP/IP Errors

If you are running Winsock 2 with FP97 or 98 and you get the error, " You need to install 32-bit TCP/IP" then try the following:

1. remove Winsock 2.0
2. re-install Winsock 1.1

Frontpage 97 & 98 run beautifully having removed Winsock 2.0.

When removing Winsock 2.0 from the batch file in your

C:\Windows\Ws2Bakup

The batch file does not work properly, you will have to re-boot to msdos mode and remove these files:

• MSAFD.DLL
• WSOCK32.DLL
• WS2_32.DLL
• WS2HELP.DLL
• WSMSOCK.DLL
• MSVCRT.DLL

After that you will need to move two files to your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. The two files are in the C:\WINDOWS\WS2BAKUP\WSOCK32.DLL & MSCRT.DLL directory. After you have installed those two files re-boot your system and try FrontPage 97 or 98.
